XCMG Mining Group has broken the industry competition record for super equipment with the recent launch of 35-cubic-meter electric shovel, 700-tonnage hydraulic excavator and 440-tonnage rear drive rigid mining truck.

XES35 electric shovel is a new generation electric shovel product independently developed by XCMG based on years of experience in designing and manufacturing super large equipment, researching various advanced technologies at home and abroad, and upgrading multiple technologies to address the shortcomings in the use of electric shovels and the new needs of users.

The electric shovel weighs approximately 1100 tons with a height of 18.5 meters, equivalent to the height of a six-story building. The standard bucket capacity is 35 cubic meters, and the bucket can load nearly 65 tons of ore each time.

Used together with a 220-300t mining dump truck, the electric shovel has the advantages of being intelligent, green, reliable and comfortable aside from being low cost of comprehensive use so that it can meet the construction requirements of super large open-pit mines with its overall performance reaching the international advanced level.

“Mining areas generally require equipment to be ready for use at 90% of the time, with a lifespan of up to 20 years. Therefore, the mining area has very high requirements for the reliability of large structural components and transmission components, as well as the sensitivity and intelligence of motor control. We have solved the design and manufacturing technology for long service life and reliability of large structural components, as well as the control technology for large-scale variable frequency motor joint control, which is an industry challenge”, Wu Qingli, Assistant to the Director of the Hydraulic Shovel Research and Development Institute of XCMG Mining Machinery Technology Center, said.

As a key equipment in open-pit mining, electric shovels have high technological content and complex manufacturing techniques, making them an important indicator of a country"s industrial strength. The successful launch of XES35 electric shovel marks that XCMG has mastered the key core technologies of large electric shovels and has the strength to develop and manufacture larger tonnage electric shovels.

XCMG has recently delivered two XE7000 hydraulic excavators, marking the imminent launch of the world"s largest rear drive rigid mining vehicle, the XDE440, to the South American market. This marks another milestone breakthrough in XCMG"s mining machinery development and highlights XCMG"s hard core strength as a national heavyweight in the global high-end equipment manufacturing industry.
